Honestly, it feels colder @ 40 degrees & raining than I remember
feeling @ +10 degrees & dry. The dampness penetrates & neutralizes
the insulatiing properties of just about everything.

However, although it is true that I've never needed to use a dipstick heater
or take my car battery inside at night, and the foam in the seat of the
car doesn't freeze into a substance that resembles concrete when sat
upon, a few homeless folks have died from hypothermia over the past couple
of years in Santa Cruz county, and Pneumonia is quite common among people
with respiratory problems, the homeless, elderly, and disabled.
