>>Furr claims not to support Stalin but is combatting specious claims

"Too sanguine" . . . about a person dead for more than half a century. I guess everyone has personal feelings about everything. Reaction - specifically the fascist currents always present in American history and deepening in our country, does not make subtle distinctions between Stalinist or other political and oppositional tends. This was at any rate my point.
How I might view Thomas Jefferson and his period in American history, may or may not be related to whether or not I end up in jail or have anything to do with my individual impact upon American politics, or how a section of reaction seeks to isolate individuals on the so-called left of our political spectrum. I happen to think that Bill Clinton was worse than Bush, Sr. on the basis of the policies each administration implemented and its impact upon real people in America. I happen to find many people on the left "too sanguine" about Bill Clinton.
Really.
Bush, Jr. does not frighten me at all.
I think that in another 50 years there is going to be a really different assessment of the period of the 20th century.
I do believe that Soviet policy contributed to a certain dislocation in agriculture, with its hardships and famine. I am almost certain that I as an individual could not have done better. I also believe that no one could have done better than Lincoln during our Civil War. Perhaps this is being "to sanguine" about Lincoln. Sometimes history is treated as if one was a "day after the event" quarter back.
I don't know.
One thing is certain to me and that is that I have had an opporutiny to "run the ball" and run plays in my limited sphere, during my life time and absolutely everyone not in the game had an opinion about how I messed up and what I should have done and this is all right, because it goes along with running the ball.
Gimme the ball. :-)
I can tell you in advance that at some point I am going to fumble.
Gimme the ball. :-) Waistline
