There was something here or on LBO (it all seems to congeal in my mind) associating TLJ and the Minutemen a-holes.
I don't think this qualifies as "...associating TLJ and the Minutemen a-holes." 2/2/06 Tommy Lee Jones hosts El Paso fundraiser for border groups http://www.kltv.com/global/story.asp?s=4444076&ClientType=Printable EL PASO, Texas Tommy Lee Jones hosted a fundraising reception and screening of his new movie tonight to benefit a local border group. The movie is called The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. Jones directed and stars in it. The plot is loosely based on the 1997 shooting death of a high school student by a U.S. Marine stationed at the border to help curb drug smuggling. Jones says his goal was to show the human side of a culture bisected by an international border. Jones plays a ranch foreman who hires an illegal immigrant. When the employee is shot to death, Jones discovers a cover-up and leads a cross-border odyssey to properly bury the ranch hand. In real life, Ezequiel Hernandez Junior was killed by a Marine as the teen tended to a herd of goats. No charges were ever filed. The federal government later settled with Hernandez's family for about one-point-nine (M) million dollars. Proceeds from tonight's screening and reception will benefit the El Paso Community Foundation, a nonprofit group that supports border area charities. #33#
