Before I returned to grad school, I worked as head of marketing research for a trucking company. Truth be told, I had nothing to do since trucking was regulated, but they were a big (but now defunct) company, so they had to have aomeone with that title.
I railed against the Vietnam war at the time, but to no avail. the the stock market began to slip, especially this company's. I attributed it to the war. Suddenly, I was surrounded by peaceniks.
