What do people think about this report? Housing does not seem to be much of a basis for near term growth. Manufacturing growth was mostly driven by aircraft, I thought.
When China's President visited... He visited Boeing to personally check into China's order for 80 airplanes, and that's some money into the economy. (Is anything else actually manufactured in this country anymore?) IMHO, housing is only a basis for near term growth if the buyer is buying the house as an investment, or as happens so often around here, temporary domicile until the corporate job moves on due to company demanded relocation or a 'long term' consulting job ends, and the house is resold long before the mortgage is paid off (or the balloon payment's due). Oh, right, there IS another manufacturing industry in the U.S., Prefab Homes. Can anyone think of another manufacturing industry in the U.S.... and NOT the auto industry, the cars are not manufactured here, they're assembled from sub-components manufactured overseas.
