Hey, I wrote a whole book about that - one that takes a long look at
the productivity numbers. You could refute their case (in real time,
not in retrospect) using those very numbers. In fact, the New Economy
moment was a bunch of know-nothing cheerleading that carried on in
defiance of evidence like economic stats.
