Did see referrence to it today... a couple of government ministers were
sacked.
It looks like the CIA did a helluva job of generally destabilizing
Somalia, and now Kenya is watching the airports for the fleeing warlords
as persona non gratis, the ICU fighters are moving in on the
transitional government's stronghold in Baidoa... a government who,
according to reports, seem to be from tribal groupings in the region the
Aussie mercenaries are operating, Puntland. It looks to be a rout, and
it also appears that the CIA has abandoned their mercenaries... much
like they did with bin laden and countless others.
So that leaves the State department with the ICU, ostensibly (but
probably loosely) connected with AQ, and a bunch of heavily armed
warlords who just learned to hate the U.S. as well.
Lovely... The Bush admin couldn't do a better job of endangering
American citizens if they were trying.
But that's another story...
