TOMORROW'S FORECAST

A few more nukes!

When I heard James Lovelock call for increased nuclear power generation
in a BBC interview a few years ago,

...I though he had been breathing too much of that ammonia-rich
atmosphere that he proposed the earth's biosphere would be, if the
vegetation went away... But as a scientist, he's looking for a stop-gap
to prevent humanity from parboiling due to the greenhouse effect.
Unfortunately, like Mr. Monbiot, he thinks the economic, industrial, and
political powers will just use nuclear power as a temporary measure and
look for other alternatives.

IMHO, he is SOooooo wrong, and this line of reasoning is based on
wishful thinking. Bureaucrats, unlike scientists, don't come from the
"top of the curve", and they don't "think outside the box"...

Hell, they don't even know they're in "the box" until it collapses on them.
Nuclear power will be the "duct tape" that keeps the box from collapsing
(on THEIR watch).

Parboil, or glow... not much of a choice.
