Well, it depends: what do you mean by "Science"? An approach open to
criticism and based in experimental verification predates "Science" by
thousands of years. So perhaps calling that "Science" is the real
fetishism here.

My 18 month old often is open to criticism (a lot more than most
scientists, I would claim) and seems to wish to experimentally verify
his findings. IMHO: He is just a curious and honest human being. Not a
scientist or someone with a "scientific mindset".
