Marvin Gandall refers to > another crude Texan, LBJ< besides GWB.

I think there's a difference here: LBJ was a born-and-bred crude
Texan, trained to rule his roost in a paternalistic (if crude) way.
But Dubya seems to have adopted his Texanism -- since after all he was
born in Connecticut. I don't know when he moved to TX, but all the
evidence suggested that the "crude Texas" style fit well with his
intellectually lazy preppy frat-boy with dyslexia style along with
his political goals (proving he was a "man of the people" via poor
syntax).
