Since the beginning of the attack, the IOF demonstrated a clear disregard of their legal commitment by virtue of the International Humanitarian Law (IHL), most notably the Fourth Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Person at a Time of War and Human Law particularly the International Convention of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and Child Rights Agreement.

The siege deprived Gaza’s residents from receiving  medicine, medical equipment, food supply and fuel, IOF air strikes targeted civil and indispensable facilities like bridges which resulted in disconnecting southern and middle districts from Gaza City where the only well-equipped hospital is located. The Shelling targeted Gaza power station which supplies approximately 60% of the Gaza Strip's population with electricity.
Human Rights and other civil society  hereby highlights that the International Community, most notably the High Contracting Parties to Geneva Convention, should undertake its legal and ethical obligations to intervene in order to put a halt to Israeli war crimes and provide protection to Palestinian civilians. Al Mezan stresses on the International Community’s intervention under a raising human crisis in the Gaza Strip should the IOF maintain the siege and target civilians, property and indispensable facilities.
