A couple of points:

1) Zidane has a history of such outbursts. Red cards and headbutting incidents in the past. So clearly the Italians were baiting him.

2) The Italian defender Materazzi denies calling Zidane a "dirty terrorist". If he did, then he clearly went too far and deserves to be condemned. Trash talk is one thing, but civilized men are always expected to respect certain boundaries.
