True (though Mac users may prefer NeoOffice/J, and there is also
KOffice, etc). There are issues (not everything renders reliably) but
more importantly, Word docs are (a) proprietary format and should be
opposed on principle ;-) (b) are vehicles of malware/viruses a lot more
than PDF or other formats are, and (c) are bloatware. So, I would still
recommend against them, if I may.
