As Mark
Twain said there are "lies, damn lies and statistics".

As Mark Twain must at some time have thought to himself, "The reports
of my sayings have been greatly exagerrated." According to Wikipedia,
Mark Twain attributed the saying to Benjamin Disraeli. Actually Twain
wrote only that the remark was *attributed* to Disraeli. According to
Peter Lee of the University of York, the statement was actually made
by Leonard Courtney in 1895.
