Not sure which report it is.  Some reports try to do accounting for the
accrual of unfunded liabilities, an inherently dodgy exercise.  In general
in my view these things are done as well as they can be done, given the
mandate; the issue is what to make of the results.

Yesterday, at Borders Books, I saw something with a title like "the
Financial Report of the Nation" (an official US government book) that
was advertised as a book that the "government doesn't want you to
read" because the government deficit is much larger than the
government advertises (but was published anyway because that's the
law).

does anyone know about this book? Max? is it a good source? or is it just
hype?
