I love the subtle framing: actual history, accurately conveyed is "his
interpretation".  This neat little device, pocket-sized, can be used
on any occasion: "his interpretation of 2+2", "his interpretation of
the earth rotating about the sun", etc.  Slap "his interpretation" in
front of anything that a person says and you get to lie easily,
unhurriedly, and practically undetectably.
