A Scholar Is Alive, Actually, and Hungry for Debate
By MARC SANTORA

At a news conference after his spirited address to the United Nations on Wednesday, President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela expressed one regret: not having met that icon of the American left, the linguist Noam Chomsky, before his death.
.
A few years ago, my psych professor referred to Noam Chomsky in past tense.

I was quick to point out he wasn't dead yet to which the response was essentially that she wasn't aware because psycho-linguistics wasn't her field (early childhood development, where the $$$ are).

Noam Chomsky is practicing semantically charged psycho-lingiustics every time he speaks publicly, slowly... clearly... ...monotone. It can lull one to sleep (hypnotized really, where the message passes directly to the subconcious). Apparently it also causes people to believe he is dead.
