India Says Petroleum Reserves Would be Used to Smooth Prices By SIMON HALL Wall Street Journal October 2, 2006
Right, this is why Paul Roberts says there isn't going to be a peak, it's gonna be a precipice. I guess the U.S. government has done some sort of reality check, hence the pressure not to follow through on this idea. The reserves mask the real quantity and value of oil being pumped out of the ground... and the quantity OF reserves... ...well, A Saudi oil official told Roberts that if America, even though the Saudis opened the oil tap after 9/11, had decided to fill their cars up instead of running on the 1/2 full tanks in the 'median' (grrrrr!) American automoble, it would have totally disrupted the world's oil supplies anyway.
