I think (as it were) that one can "think better" if one instead one belongs to a religious (etc.) minority group (so that one has to try to see the world using two different Weltanschaungen) or has a physical or mental handicap (where the "thinking better" happens outside of those areas that are handicapped). Being a fish out of water pushes one to "think better."

Words or a language are not all possible thought, but are habits about using the body which is shared with others more or less intelligibly. Another language can diverge widely in the every day habit of using the body. The contrast between languages makes clearer what one languages does to carve up mental space. Doyle
