I was reading a boilerplate propaganda piece @ the wapo entitled:

'Shadow Wolves' Prowl the U.S.-Mexico Border
American Indian Officers Use Traditional Methods of Tracking to Try to
Capture Drug Smugglers

In reality, this story is one-sided agit-prop for continuing federal
incursions and the concurrent pork-barrel funding of these MILITARY
OPERATIONS on Tohono O'odham sacred land.

The cultural assimilation/genocide continues.

From a ...'conservative' Native news source:

O'odham protest military home invasions
Posted: August 18, 2006
GU-VO DISTRICT, Tohono O'odham Nation, Ariz. - As the National Guard
sets up observation posts on Tohono O'odham tribal land on the border,
O'odham say homes are being invaded by U.S. Border Patrol agents and
their peace of life has been destroyed. ''There is an invasion of our
communities. You would not think this is America: it is a whole
different world,'' said Ofelia Rivas, founder of the O'odham Voice
against the Wall, an O'odham human rights advocacy organization.

Border hearing slices through hype

Tohono O'odham, others reveal life in a militarized zone

TUCSON, Ariz. - Rep. Raul Grijalva and others heard from indigenous
whose communities are located on both sides of the border, along with
other border residents describing the realities of death in the desert
and the hidden agendas of those profiteering from the sudden attention
to the southern border, at a public hearing held Aug. 17.
