If Chao [Mrs. McConnell to you] were expressing the opinion of one political 
loon, it
wouldn't be too bad.  Sadly, her view is a conventional wisdom of academic 
economics.
She does throw one curveball.  "Fastest-growing jobs" is not a particularly 
relevant
category, unless the base is already large.  A category with 100% growth rate
wouldn't mean much if there were only 10 workers so-employed already.  I assume 
that
Bernstein informed Parade that the largest growth in jobs is for low-wage 
service
jobs.

Of course, the real problem, is an obsequence deficiency.  Chao tells us, 
"American employees must be punctual,
dress appropriately and have good personal hygiene," says Chao. "They need
anger-management and conflict-resolution skills, and they have to be able to 
accept
direction. Too many young people bristle when a supervisor asks them to do
something."
