Yes.  Also the disjunct between the elite pure Econ Dept people and the
masses of practitioners in non-Econ departments (Urban planning, area
studies, African-American/Latino studies, sociology, geography, public
affairs, etc.) and outside academia.

It would be useful if people were to distinguish between the really
bad economists who dominate the profession, the IMF/World Bank, and
the public face of economics (the Chicago School, what I call the
"Ekon") and the more sophisticated neoclassical economists like Arrow,
Sen, and Stiglitz. The two can be set against each other, undermining
the Ekon.

But don't do this too much. It's what's my book-in-progress entails.
