in a recent NATION mag column, Eric Alterman had a good take on
Murdoch's take-over of the WSJ: if (when) he undermines the front news
pages of the the paper, that destroys the credibility of the editorial
pages. Without the high-quality business news, the editorials end up
being as prestigious and influential as the ravings of David Horowitz.
