This is an addendum to my book announcement to pen-l of about a year ago (which was greeted with mockery by LP, but what the heck). The book (Global Economics: An Introductory Course) is now available. (No mathematical formulae, but statistical graphs and tables are included.)
In chapter 15, “global exploitation” is defined as a process in which the richer strata or countries of world society engage in “selfish or unfair utilization” (dictionary term) of the labour and resources of the poorer strata or countries of world society through various mechanisms, including “differential exploitation” (Lebowitz), (transnational) “transfer of value” (Amin, Toussaint) or “net financial transfers from South to North” (UNDP), “unequal exchange” (Emmanuel) and other mechanisms.
