Please can you help? Has any-one else out there had issues with NMAP port scans (or any other port scanner) causing systems to crash?
Yep it was DEC Unix. IIRC the inetd process was the issue. The host in question had all the default crap enabled, so inetd received numerous hits in a short space of time causing it to die and take the system with it...
