Breaking News: Nowruz Resolution Gaining Traction






PAAIA Initiative Before House Committee Now



January 27th, 2009, Washington, D.C. - As of noon today, the House 
Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is in session and is 
expected to pass H. Res 267, the resolution in honor of the Iranian New 
year (Nowruz), therefore moving the resolution one step closer to being 
voted on in the U.S. House of Representatives.



At the urging of PAAIA, Congressman Michael Honda (CA-15th) introduced 
H.Res. 267 into the House of Representatives on March 19, 2009. The 
resolution recognizes the cultural and historical significance of 
Nowruz, expresses appreciation to Iranian Americans for their 
contributions to American society, and wishes Iranian Americans, the 
people of Iran, and all those who celebrate the holiday a prosperous 
new year.

Survey Explores Views Concerning Post Election Developments in Iran



January 22, 2010, Washington, D.C. - The Public Affairs Alliance of 
Iranian Americans (PAAIA) will be holding a congressional briefing on 
Thursday, January 28, 2010 to present the findings of its 2009 National 
Public Opinion Survey of Iranian Americans. The national poll, 
conducted by Zogby International, explores the attitudes and views of 
Iranian Americans relating to recent developments in Iran.
