Continued Human Rights Violations reported as Iran marks Anniversary
of Revolution

February 11, 2010, Los Angeles, CA - The Iranian American community has
been anxiously following today’s reports in the press and on
social media according to which violence broke out in Tehran, Isfahan,
Shiraz, Mashhad and Ahvaz, and evidently, Tabriz, where massive state
rallies marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution met with
anti-government protests. While PAAIA’s stated mission is
focused on matters of U.S. domestic concern, as the voice of the
Iranian American community, we continue to demand full respect for
human rights, including the right to assembly and free expression, and
condemn the violation of such rights wherever they may occur,
especially in Iran.
