Which is why I have a feeling the problem is not in deficient
implementation, but in misconfiguration.
Unless you have an nvidia
card with the nvidia accelerated driver though, we currently can't take
full advantage of the hardware and lose out on many acceleration
opportunties.
I'll see if I can get NVidia's drivers to work with my SXCE b28, amd64,
GeForce FX5200 machine.
In the latest SX: Community Edition based on nv_28 we have moved to Xorg
6.9 which has fixed a couple of performance issues, and provides the new
experimental EXA acceleration architecture that you can turn on to see
It seems that EXA is still not available for NVidia. I'm waiting for
ZFS to stabilize and then I'll upgrade my laptop and see if the Radeon
in it will benefit from EXA.
