Hi,
I am trying to installing the patch for perfmon2 but I am having some
problems. I was hoping somebody could help me fix this. I did the following:
* Installed the Ubuntu-patched linux-source-2.6.24
* Patched linux-source-2.6.24 with perfmon2-2.6.24.diff
* Compiled/installed kernel, updated grub, etc
Then, when I reboot I am not able to start my Gnome session (after login it
freezes with a blank screen). Though, I can boot a Gnome Failsafe session,
so I guess some of Gnome's startup scripts fails somewhere.
Then, Ubuntu provides the packages libpfm3-3.2-dev and pfmon so I installed
it. But when I run pfmon it get the message: "no detected PMU support
type=36"
My processor is a "Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.66GHz".
