I'm new to using perfmon so forgive me if i've overlooked something
obvious. I believe I've managed to get it installed properly on a pentium
M laptop for testing. Had to enable lapic and loading the _pm module
appears to be working fine ala dmesg output.

No matter what i seem to do however when i try anything of substance usng
pfmon i get a context error and it chokes. for instance:

pfmon ls
pfm_create_context error Bad file descriptor
can't create perfmon context: Bad file descriptor(9)

this is the most trivial example listed in the docs. anyone have a
suggestion where to begin hunting down the problem?

thanks
-dave
