Hi All, The fedora kernel does not have the perfmon2 patches in, but the user space perfmon2 code is being built in the Red Hat build system. The Red Hat build system on x86-64 for fc6 builds with the options for CFLAGS:
-O2 -g -pipe -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -m64 -mtune=nocona The effect of these options is that the compilation on the Red Hat build system is a bit picker. The rules.mk were modified to include the RPM_BUILD_OPTS. There are a couple places in pfmon and libpfm where the ignoring of the return values would cause the build process to abort. I have put the source RPM that build on FC6 at http://people.redhat.com/wcohen/perfmon2/, but these should be available soon through the regular fedora download sites. In libpfm the following patch makes the compiler happy: libpfm-3.2-showreginfo.patch In pfmon the following patch does a similar thing: pfmon-fortify.patch Comments on the SRPMs? -Will _______________________________________________ perfmon mailing list [email protected] http://www.hpl.hp.com/hosted/linux/mail-archives/perfmon/
