This is a fair question. I do not use any source control software for the kernel. I maintain the patches manually based on snapshots from kernel.org. In general, I am not that good with versions and source control. But I realize there is a need to follow more closely the daily developments of perfmon2 and of the mainline kernel. I am not too familiar with git. I remember trying it for a while at least for the basic "consumer" commands. I think we should try this out. I would think we could get a git repository off of kernel.org, unless you have a better idea. I don't think we can get that from SourceForge.
