I am submitting this patch to support PPC64 processors in libpfm. This
patch is fairly large, but contains mostly new source (much of which is
auto-generated) and few modifications to existing files in libpfm.
I left in the empty code for "powerpc" support, in case someone wants to
include support for the 32-bit PowerPC processors at some point. This
patch is only for the PPC970{FX,GX,MP},POWER{4,4+,5,5+,6}. Currently,
it is tested on POWER4 by driving it with PAPI, but I will soon be
testing it on other architectures. That said, I don't expect many
changes on those other arches.
If you would like me to break up this post into smaller posts, please
let me know. To create this patch, I used the command 'cvs diff -r HEAD
-p -u -N' in the libpfm module.
Please let me know if there are any problems with this patch.
