I think a forked FAQ would double the maintenance headache. I think it's reasonable for the one true FAQ to have answers that do refer to things that change between perl versions, as people don't always read the FAQ from the source tree of the perl that they are using, and people who work with multiple perl versions need to know this stuff anyway. The only concern I might have is about 5.7 (and in future 5.9 things) "leaking" out into the stable world. But the world is grown up enough to cope with this, isn't it?
