Early testing looks encouraging for the patch above. Thank you. Do you know if Perl v5.8.1 resolves this issue with alarms?
I'm pretty sure that is _way_ low on list of priorities... pretty sure it isn't fixed in 5.8.1 and won't be in 5.8.2 (which should arrive soon with some more thread memory leak patches).
