Not true. Both "sub" and "subtree" are supported and mean the same.

There is no mention of a scope => "subtree".
True. There is also no mention of scope 'single' which is the same as 'one'
IIRC it did once, but it was cut back to document only the names are they are referred to in the LDAP spec. Support is still in the code for people who wrote code before we undocumented them.
