I'm sorry but 5.6.0 is not working for EBCDIC mainframe environments.
The UTF8-induced changes broke the EBCDIC support some time after
5.005_63 and since then no attempt was made to port/test the developer
prereleases in EBCDIC lands. Someone who has all of the following is wanted:
access to an EBCDIC box, good knowledge of EBCDIC and Unicode/UTF-8
and *lots* of porting/debugging time.
