It seemed I was just in time, and Jarkko kept promise ...

Perl 5.7.2 Has Been Released

His philosophy was a mixture of three famous schools --
the Cynics, the Stoics and the Epicureans -- and summed up
all three of them in his famous phrase, "You can't trust any
bugger further than you can throw him, and there's nothing
you can do about it, so let's have a drink."
        -- Terry Pratchett, "Small Gods"

The source code is available from

        http://www.cpan.org/src/perl-5.7.2.tar.gz

Overview of changes is available within the distribution in pod format
as perl572delta (pod/perl572delta.pod). Detailed list of changes is
    in the Changes file.

The most noticeable change from Perl 5.7.1 is the large number
of new modules adopted to the core distribution. Also, many new
    platforms are supported.

Perl 5.7.2 Is A Development Release

If you are looking for a maintenance release, go for the Perl 5.6.1.

Perl 5.7 is for you if you want to help out in developing Perl 5.

Please test 5.7.2 extensively with your favourite code and report
any problems either using the perlbug script, or directly to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (if not using perlbug, please read the
section "Reporting Problems" in the INSTALL file carefully.)

The Road to 5.8.0

Perl 5.7.2 can be considered to be the virtual Release Candidate Zero
for the Perl 5.8.0, it is just not called a Release Candidate.
It is in pretty good shape, it is just that it is not *quite* yet
ready to be a major release. No large changes are expected between
    now and 5.8.0.

Enjoy.
