Thinks like use_ok, require_ok, isa_ok, can_ok, etc... are all functions that I threw into Test::More because I found myself needing them and suspected others did, too. If you prefer to use ok() instead of one of the above special purpose functions, I'm not going to jump up and down and fling poo at you (as enjoyable as that is).
They're nice to have, which reflects the "More" nature of Test::More. If they didn't exist, I could see worrying about their utility weight against the effort involved in implementing them. But some crazy test monkey already implemented them, so there they are. Ooop ooop. -- Michael G.
