I was doing that for a while, until I had to rebuild my svn repository due to disk corruption. Now, I just scp them to a directory on the webserver to get the uri thing, and I use a hacked version of cpan-upload[1]. I figure if I can't do ./Build dist from the tag, it was a bad release.
