Yes, taking separately and literally, they are true. They are not
even contradictory. But to tell them not to bother anyone while
criticising that they didn’t examine anyones’s needs is to imply
that you do not expect them to ever try to help anyone.

You are the judge of what’s useful to you or not, of course, but
I can’t pass any further comment on who should or shouldn’t have
said what in those cases, without knowing the exchanges you refer
to. But no one having to hear they’re wrong anymore does not seem
like it would actually improve anything.
