Hi,

Please note this is cross posted.

Several of the QA people have kindly said they will help with updating

3) Phalanx

Though in one sense it pains me to say it, Phalanx does not need to be a major tab. It can be demoted to a link somewhere.

The first version of Phalanx was put forth by Andy Lester in 2003, but his bigger pitch for it came at YAPC::NA::2004 in Buffalo. Over the next year four of us in New York City 'phalanx'-ed HTML::Template (patches ultimately accepted) and Text::Template (patches never accepted). Mark Prewitt and I spoke about this at YAPC in Toronto the following year.

I believe there was one other group of hoplites active in some other city (Chicago?), but I don't know whether that ultimately was reflected in updated code on CPAN.

I learned a tremendous amount about testing, code coverage and writing testable code from the Phalanx project -- knowledge which has served me well, particularly in the Parrot project. The approach to 'phalanx'-ing a module can be applied by anyone (and I'm happy to mentor people on that). But, to the best of my knowledge, there's no active Phalanx project per se at the present time. So it doesn't need to be quite so prominent on qa.perl.org.

Thank you very much.
