This is great news, I know a few people who wanted this for a long time. I'm not coming for this hackathon, so please publish slides and discussion notes afterwards.
We didn't do the presentation, but if you're interested in looking at what we prepared anyway, have a look at

On the scale between proof-of-concept and production-ready, where does your code fall?
It's a proof-of-concept, with still some details to flesh out, including taking into account the points that were raised in Lancaster. You should be able to download it and give it a try right now though. The code is useful enough for simple testing. :)
So far, have any considerations been made for packaging, and if yes, how does it compare with the established Ruby → RPM conventions? <http://paste.scsys.co.uk/240986?tx=on>

Will the code the merged into main M::B? If not, can it be renamed to ::InstallTests for better discoverability?
I came from Lancaster with the impression that this was something many wanted to have into M::B. We're aiming for that. Schwern was also positive to have something like this implemented in EU::MM too. But in any case, ::InstallTests is probably a good namechange. :)
