Any hint on what the 3 sections are? I've ended up sprinkling regex
throughout my course instead of focusing on it as a single section.
It was too much for students to consume at once.

I'd be interested in knowing how everyone else breaks down their
regex portions. Mine is essentially:

1) simple matches
2) simple matches, case insensitive
3) simple search and replaces
4) ranges and metacharaters
5) $1, $2 etc.
6) Methodology on breaking down a complex match into little pieces
7) more complicated examples

I've got 14 2 hour lectures to sprinkle this in. In my 3x8hour
course I end up doing it all at once.
