I tell the story of being threatened by a business partner of the New
Zealand government after I downloaded about 3/4 of the (copyright!)
New Zealand legislation one night in 1996. I was in the US. The
server was in NZ. I must have run up a hefty bill for them :-)
I tell students that you always have to bear in mind the fact that if
the people whose data you're filching don't want you to filch it, you
might find yourself in hot water. Like, for instance, being banned
from your home country :-)
