Hello I am using a SUN MicroSystem Sun Blade 2000 with Solaris 8, and Perl 5.005_03. I want to ftp files from one system to other using Perl language. I read on the perl book that the Net: :FTP is part of the libnet bundle.
I download the libnet bundle (libnet-1.02a-sol8-sparc-local.gz) from Sunfreeware.com. 1. I unzip the file using the gunzip command as follow: # gunzip libnet-1.02a-sol8-sparc-local.gz
2. I loaded the bundle using the pkgadd command as follow: # pkgadd –d libnet-1.02a-sol8-sparc-local
The following packages are available: 1 SMClibnet libnet (sparc) 1.0.2a
Select packages you wish to process : all Using </usr/local> as the package base directory . . . Installation of <SMClibnet> was successful.
I wrote the following short perl script (test.pl) to test the net FTP.
#!/usr/bin/perl –w
# created by Oscar # use Net: : FTP;
print (“testing the FTP procedure\n”);
I received the following error message:
Can’t locate Net/FTP.pm in @INC @INC contains: /usr/perl5/5.00503/sun4-solaris (/usr/perl5/5.00503 /usr/perl5/site_perl/5.005/sun4-solaris /usr/perl5/site_perl/5.005 . ) at ./test.pl line 5.
BEGIN failed – compilation aborted at ./test.pl line 5.
How can I get the FTP.pm on my system? Did is do something wrong?
