Hello everyone.

I've come accross a service in Win2k called AppMgmt (Application
Management). Basically it's a service that is being called by a svchost.exe
and started at bootup. I am wondering if there's a programmatic way of
killing/restarting the service of this type. I've tried conventional
service management utils and none seem to work on it (giving similar results
if you want to restart the RPC services). Am I trying in vain?

As a backgrounder, I am trying to come up with a way to force Win2k
workstations to execute an MSI packages assigned by a GPO from a domain
controller. I need this functionality for a simple reason. I don't want to
reboot a workstation in order to execute a machine assigned MSI package (w/o
using other distribution methods like SMS)

Any thoughts?

-Eugene
