I'm new to this list, so I apologize if this has been asked before.

I've been asked to help our PC Guy fix a bunch of PCs that are
pointing to incorrect WINS servers. These machines are either
Win2K or NT. I am using Win32::TieRegistry with much success.

My question: what would be considered the most efficient and
reliable way to identify from the registry what OS I'm running
my Perl program on?

TIA,

deb
