I have a script which does just that. It runs as a batch job on
startup, and records the time the user logged on, when the user
logged off, and the elapsed time. This is to keep track of my
son's computer time, which is restricted to ensure that his
homework gets done. It also has an option which logs the user
off, and disables the login if the time exceeds the max amount.
