Well, not to litter the list too much (my, what a very "active" community here... very nice and helpful)...
Yes Jenda, it was the Hip version you mention, and yes, my primary difficulty was trying to get module integration, specifically Net::FTP and Getopt::Std at the time. Seemed the only way to use modules was to have the module in the same path as the executing .pl script. (I tried several different ways, but none seemed to work but that.) With so many cascading dependancies in the Net:: modules, I just gave up and wrote my own FTP module (called NTFTP.pm) in which I provided an abstract interface to the NT FTP client, but with the same FTP calls as Net::FTP (put, get, dir, cwd, mput, mget, etc). Worked out rather well, inefficent though it was underneath. Someone just tell me if these side conversations are just a bit much. It's been quite a few years since I've been on a mailing list, though this one is quite nice.
